Editor/Camera Operator


YES TV Calgary is looking for a creative, dedicated team player who will thrive in the fast paced world of broadcast production. The main purpose of this role is to research, shoot, edit and communicate various media content for studio, field location, and web productions, and oversee and control the technical, audio and artistic aspects of faith and values media creation while maintaining a high standard of technical quality with a creative and professional demeanor.


Reports directly to the Director, Western Canada

Areas of Responsibility

  1. Develop story / programing content for YES TV Alberta in conjunction with Western Canada Director and with specific direction from the Executive Producer of YES TV.
  2. Responsible for the implementation of the concept, to create a media story or clip.
  3. Create and Develop promotional spots including but not limited to writing scripts, sourcing footage, editing and publishing with closed captions.
  4. Ensure that all production commitments or other regulatory administration is being carried out.
  5. Ensure highest quality for color correcting / Post Audio Mixing / Post Graphics.
  6. Create / Edit YESTV Partnership Commercials.

Job Specific Duties

  1. Receive assignments, create and oversee all aspects of production from conception to completion.
  2. Collaborate with the Director and Executive Producer on overall appearance of content production.
  3. Plan and coordinate all stages of studio and field production.
  4. Source out additional video material when required to enhance production.
  5. Provide Closed Captioning for all programs / promos / commercials / videos etc.  
  6. Shoot, edit and package multi-cam interviews for content creation of all programing.
  7. Select music/audio, provide music clearance information.
  8. Prepare and maintain accurate, detailed computer and hard-copy records of all productions and tapings.  
  9. Maintain production archives using company standard naming conventions.
  10. Work with Social Media lead to create engaging content for social outlets when applicable (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).
  11. Maintain and upkeep all camera’s, editing equipment and studio function (lights etc.).
  12. Provide monthly AVLA Reports (Music Video Clearance).
  13. Provide input for budget creation.
  14. Other duties as required.

Qualifications And Skills

  1. Post-secondary completion of a recognized television broadcasting course
  2. At least 3 years experience in the broadcasting industry
  3. Editing experience
