Programming Coordinator

YES TV is looking for a Programming Coordinator to execute the daily operations of the programming department in support of three conventional over-the-air broadcast stations, focusing primarily on acquisition, listings and conditions of license management.

Areas of Responsibility

1.       Provide research analytics and insights to YES TV sales, marketing, programming, and production in achieving(or exceeding) YES TV’s overall revenue target.

2.       Assist with development of programming strategy and annual regulatory reports.

3.       Assist with the selection of programming to fulfill Condition of Licence, (COL), and programming strategies.

4.       Assist with the quality assurance process for all in-house and independent productions commissioned/acquired by YES TV.

5.       Assist with the scheduling of materials in the broadcast management software (SDS).

6.       Assist with the tracking and execution of regulatory requirements (Condition of Licence) within the schedule.

7.       Monitor and assist with management of the simulcast substitution process.

8.       Generate regular research insights/analytics reports for YES TV team and external sales reps.

9.       Coordinate collaboration efforts between sales, traffic, promotions, distributors/producers and programming.

10.   Assist with managing SOCAN reporting.

11.   Execute schedules with Numeris/PROL.

12.   Assist related organization, Crossroads Christian Communications Inc., Development and Marketing departments with research requests.

13.   Assist broadcast coordinator with the management of media assets.

14.   Act as backup for CRTC monthly log reporting and management of missing CANREC numbers.

15.   Other duties as required.

Job Specific Duties

Qualifications And Skills

1.       Post-secondary education, preferably in media or broadcasting studies.

2.       2-5 years’ experience working for a broadcaster or broadcast media support/operations (or agency buyer background).

3.       2-5 years’ practical hands-on experience with broadcast management software.

4.       Thorough understanding of CRTC broadcast rules and regulations.

5.       Understanding of inter-connectivity and level of communication required between programming, broadcast traffic, media services, MCR, media library, marketing, sales, independent distributors, and large distributor/production houses.

6.       Proficient with Specialty Data Systems Traffic system, (SDS), or other traffic system.

7.       Proficient with N Logic (Numeris software).

8.       Good knowledge of broadcast terminology, interpreting Numeris data, understanding of broadcast workflow and interdependencies.

9.       Highly proficient with Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

10.   Understanding and working knowledge of broadcast research is an asset.
