Upcoming Signal Frequency Changes To Impact Over-The-Air Viewer Access toYESTV Ottawa, May 25, 2020

Over-the-air viewers of YES TV in the Ottawa, Ontario region are notified that due to mandated transmitter updates and frequency changes, they can expect a brief period of down time while testing commences on signal migration, beginning at 10am on Monday May 25, 2020. CITS-DT Ottawa will cease broadcast on Channel 42, and resume broadcasting service on channel 15. This period of testing commencing May 25th will proceed for up to 3 weeks, following which the channel change will become permanent.

Viewers using over-the-air rooftop or indoor antennas to access these channels will be required to re-scan their television channels to restore service
. Viewers are encouraged to consult their antenna and television manuals for model specific instructions on re-scanning and programming these channel changes.

Mandated by ISED (Innovation, Science, and Economic Development) in Canada and the Federal Communications Commission in the U.S.(FCC), this “TV channel repack” program requires broadcasters with over-the-air services to transition into a tighter spectrum to free up more spectrum for wireless carriers.
